A huge thank you to Laura Nielsen, Taryn Pagel, Rosa Zito, Heidi Kalafut, Jessica Foy, Natalie Salt, Katrina Vanderloo and Ali Van Winkle for their part in planning one incredible Staff Appreciation week for our staff. We had breakfast and lunch provided everyday. We truly enjoyed the Boba bar, flower stand, massages, flag hunt and trivia questions throughout the week. The raffle prizes, taxis and "baggage claim" gift totes were incredible.
We can't thank you enough!

The Stratford Elementary fun day will be held Friday, May 15th. This is like a "Field day for students, where they participate in a rotation of outdoor games with their class. Parents are welcome to attend as a "spectator" during events.
To help organize the day, students are asked to wear a t-shirts of a specific color. Purchasing a shirt is not required, but an option. You can wear a shirt from home that is your specific grade level color.
Our fifth graders participated in a t-shirt drawing contest and the winning design will go on the front of the shirt. The winner is shown below. Orders forms were sent home today in student's backpacks and will be due back the Wednesday, April 15th. This is a quick turnaround so that we have them back by the beginning of May.

If your child will be eligible for Kindergarten this year (age 5 by July 31, 2026), visit our district website www.benningtonschools.org and click on "Enroll New Student" to register for the upcoming school year.
Completing registration ensures that you receive communication regarding kindergarten. Determining the enrollment for the next year is also important for future staff planning.
Kindergarten Roundup for students will take place just prior to the start of the school year. More information will be sent on this at a later date. If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please call Mrs. Witt in our school office 402-238-2941 or email kwitt@bennps.org.

Just a reminder to send your children to school with appropriate wear for the changing temperatures. Breakfast and Reading/Walking club kids come in at 7:45. All other kids wait outside until 7:55. If the "feels like" temperature is 20 degrees or below; all kids will come in at 7:45 and wait in assigned hallway areas until 7:55.
There is no adult supervision @ front entrance until 7:45 and on playground until 7:50.
Please label all of their belongings. This way our lost and found doesn't grow.
|
- The elementary school day begins at 8:05. Please try and drop them off by 8:00 AM. Make their day start off right; without rushing.
-
Students are to be in classrooms by 8:05. If they are not in their classrooms by 8:05; they will be counted tardy. If you are running late, please call or come into the bldg to sign them in. If neither are done, it's an unexcused tardy.
- Students will be let in the building at 7:45 to eat breakfast, Reading Club or Walking Club. ALL other students will be let in at 7:55.

Communication is key. Please be sure you are notifying the office staff by either calling 402-238-2941 or emailing Kwitt@bennps.org, Lwest@bennps.org and your teacher(s) that your child(ren) will be out sick or gone for the day. One email to all of us is perfect.
If you're just running late or your student is coming in after an appointment, we would like to know. We just want to make sure all of our Stratford stars are accounted for.
In deciding whether your child should come to school, please keep the following guidelines in mind.
Any child with these symptoms should NOT come to school:
-
Fever of 100 or higher; children should not return to school until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication
- Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
Thank you for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy!

We have truly enjoyed welcoming all the parents/grandparents who have joined their children/grandchildren for lunch at our school. As our school continues to grow, we are closely monitoring our lunch capacity, and we may need to limit visits in the future due to increasing student numbers. To ensure we can accommodate everyone, we kindly ask that you call ahead.
Please remember to let the office know if you plan on eating a hot or alternate lunch with your child so we can inform the kitchen staff. We ask that you let us know before 10:00 am. After that you will need to bring cold lunch or just sit and visit. The cost of an adult lunch is $4.90, and we ask that you bring exact change. If you don't have exact amount, any remaining change will be added to your child's MySchoolBucks lunch account. Please note that you cannot pay for your meal with your child's lunch number. You are welcome to bring a cold lunch from home, but please refrain from bringing fast food—save that for the evening meals. Your child can only bring ONE friend to join you at the visitor's table.
**Please refrain from putting fast food in student lunch boxes.**
Stratford's lunch times are as follows:
Kindergarten: 11:00-11:30
Second Grade: 11:30-12:00
First Grade: 11:45-12:15
**Fourth Grade: 12:00-12:30
**Third Grade: 12:15-12:45

**Due to Cafeteria Capacity, 3rd and 4th grade visitors may be seated in a conference room depending upon the day**
